Maybe this has something to do with what the engine is designed to do (and ofc this could just be a mistake too) 4:35 yes, this is intended (assuming this missile should have this). In US planes the aim 9L will still lock onto the sun (and everything older then it as well) but the aim 9M will not. Some ir seakers can essentially tune out the sun (i dont think this makes them fully immune to the sun, it will at least be easier to dodge but yeah pretty much immune to it)
